Important Travel and Transportation Information
Travel Reminders
Air Transportation
The recommended airport to fly into is Hannover Airport (HAJ). The Hannover Airport is conveniently located about 12 km from the recommended hotels in City center of Hannover.
***The ETIAS system (short for E.U. Travel Information Authorisation System), will ensure that everyone from, about 60 non-EU countries, will have to get permission (travel authorisation) before arrival. It is hoped that this will improve the flow of information about who is arriving in Europe and will prevent some of the problems that Europe has had up to now. The process will be quite simple. It will be an online application which will take about 10 minutes. A €7 fee will have to be paid and once approved the authorisation will last 3 years.
Ground Transportation
e-Shuttle is an airport shuttle that will pick you up at your terminal and drop you off at your destination. Book ahead of time online, here or call 0511 - 977 22 40 (24 hours a day).
Taxi stands are situated in front of the terminal exits on the arrivals level. The journey to Hannover city center takes around 20 minutes and costs anywhere from €35-45 one way
Embassy & Visa Information
Be sure to confirm air and hotel arrangements at least 24 hours in advance of departure. As a reminder, never leave your wallet and passport unattended while traveling, and have photocopies of all identification and credit cards in case of theft or loss.
