Travel Reminders
***ESTA – Electronic System for Travel Authorization***
Are you visiting the United States from a Visa Waiver Program (VWP) country and currently do not possess a visitor's visa? If so, you will need to complete an official ESTA application by clicking here. You can apply for this for just yourself, or a group of travelers. (To figure out if you are from a VWP county, click here.) In order to complete the application, you will need a valid passport from a VWP country, a valid credit card or PayPal to pay the application fee of $14, and your most recent employment information.
The application generally takes about 15-20 minutes to fill out and you can check the status of the application by visiting the same site you applied at. Please complete the application at least 2 weeks-72 hours before your scheduled arrival date into the United States. ESTAs are normally valid for 2 years unless you receive a new passport or other important information changes.

Ground Transportation
Fairmont Copley Plaza is about five miles from Logan International Airport.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has convenient subway options from the airport to the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Passengers will take the subway shuttle bus to the MBTA airport subway station. From there you can either embark on the blue line and make a transfer at the Government Center to the green line Copley Station stop or embark on the blue line and make a transfer at Slate Station orange to the Back Bay Station stop. From both of these stops, the hotel is located a little over a block from the station. One way fare from the airport to Boston Park Plaza is approximately $3.00. Taxis are also available for approximately $20.00 one way. Taxi stands are located outside the airport terminals.

Getting Around
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. 90 east) into the city. Take Copley Square Exit 22 and follow straight onto Stuart Street. Take a left on Dartmouth St. and the Fairmont is immediately on your right. .
From the north
Take Interstate 93 south into the city. Take Storrow Drive Exit 26. Follow Storrow Drive and exit left at the Back Bay/Copley Exit. At the light, take a right onto Beacon Street, a left onto Clarendon Street, and then a right onto St. James Ave. The hotel is on the left.
From the south
Follow Interstate 93 north toward Boston. Take Storrow Drive Exit 26. Follow Storrow Drive and exit left at the Back Bay/Copley Exit. At the light, take a right onto Beacon Street, a left onto Clarendon Street, and then a right onto St. James Ave. The hotel is on the left.
From Boston Logan Airport
- Follow signs to Sumner Tunnel/Boston
- Take the ramp onto RT-1A S/William F. McClellan Highway
- Merge north onto Interstate 93 and take Storrow Drive Exit 26
- Follow Storrow Drive and exit left at the Back Bay/Copley Exit
- At the light, take a right onto Beacon Street, a left onto Clarendon Street, and then a right onto St. James Ave. The hotel is on the left.
- Distance is approximately 5 miles
- The drive takes approximately 15 minutes, depending upon road and traffic conditions
Embassy & Visa Information
Be sure to confirm air and hotel arrangements at least 24 hours in advance of departure. As a reminder, never leave your wallet and passport unattended while traveling, and have photocopies of all identification and credit cards in case of theft or loss.
