Air Transportation
If you have a layover in China, you most likely will need to get a visa (even if it is less than 24 hours, depending on the country of origin) Please see this website for further information on visas when traveling through China.
Ground Transportation
To get from the Gimpo (GMP) airport to the convention center, please note that the Gimpo Airport has just resumed the long-stalled operation of international flights from June. Currently only one route is in operation: Gimpo from/to Haneda Airport in Japan. If you are planning to arrive in Korea at an airport other than Incheon and need assistance, please contact the collaborating institution, the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) at ibsconference@ibs.re.kr.

Embassy & Visa Information
Click here to see if your passport requires a visa to arrive in Korea. If your passport does not require a visa to arrive in Korea, and you are officially visiting Korea on a B-1 visa which is named “visa exemption” and sometimes called “landing visa”, then you need to apply for Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA). Enacted in 2021, travelers need to complete their application at least 72 hours prior to boarding their flight. The application fee is KRW 10,000 (roughly USD $10) and authorization is valid for two years. Visit the official K-ETA website for more information and to apply.
