Meetings at This Location

The Allen Institute is located in the South Lake Union Neighborhood of Seattle and is dedicated to answering some of the biggest questions in bioscience and accelerating research worldwide. The Institute is a recognized leader in large-scale research with a commitment to an open science model within its research institutes, the Allen Institute for Brain Science, and the Allen Institute for Cell Science. The South Lake Union neighborhood is just blocks from the most popular attractions in Downtown Seattle, including the Museum of History & Industry, the Space Needle, Key Arena, the Queen Anne neighborhood and the Pacific Science Center. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is approximately 17 miles north of the meeting location.
  • Tip #1:

If you plan on taking advantage of Seattle's top attractions, consider purchasing a City Pass. For $89 you get access to the Space Needle, Seattle Aquarium, Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour, Museum of Pop Culture OR Woodland Park Zoo and Chihuly Garden and Glass OR Pacific Science Center.

  • Tip #2:

The Allen Institute is a short, 4 minute, walk from the Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Lake Union. However, bringing a rain jacket and/or umbrella is a good idea, given Seattle's climate.

Clothing Note:

The meetings are "resort casual" in dress (khakis, jeans, casual shirts, sweaters). Even if you are not participating in outdoor activities, we suggest you bring clothes appropriate for local weather temperatures. Clothes that can be layered, for use both indoors and outdoors, will work best.
